Pocket-Advisor overview
Pocket-Advisor is the console for accountants, bookkeepers, and fractional CFOs who look after several companies: one portfolio, the same deterministic numbers the owner sees, and client access the client controls.
What Pocket-Advisor is
Pocket-Advisor is the side of the product built for advisory firms — CPAs, bookkeepers, fractional CFOs — who look after more than one company. Instead of opening each client’s books one at a time, you get a single portfolio that ranks every client by what needs attention, and one click takes you into any client’s full Pocket-CFO dashboard.
It is not a separate product with separate numbers. Pocket-Advisor runs on the same platform as Pocket-CFO and reads the same figures, calculated by the same deterministic engine, so what you see for a client is exactly what that client’s owner sees. It is served at pocketadvisor.rippre.com.
How a firm is organized
A firm is an ordinary Pocket-CFO organization with the advisor console switched on. It should contain your firm’s own people — partners, analysts, administrators — and not your clients. Inside the firm, two separate things decide what each person can do:
- Their organization role (owner, admin, or member), which governs the organization itself: inviting people, branding, managing staff.
- Their seat (partner or analyst), which governs which clients they can see. An analyst sees only the clients assigned to them.
See Firm staff and client assignments for the exact rules.
Two ways to reach a client’s books
The client shares a company with you (recommended). The client keeps their own Pocket-CFO organization — their subscription, their team, their connections — and grants your firm access to one company. The client creates the grant and can revoke it at any time. See Client grants.
Your firm holds the company directly. An owner or admin in your firm creates the company inside your own organization and connects its accounting system. This gives your firm every feature for that company, but the company lives in your organization rather than the client’s.
Granted companies appear in your portfolio and company switcher with a Granted badge. Some features are currently available only for companies your firm holds directly; each page notes where that applies.
Getting access
Everyone signs in with a confirmed email address and two-factor authentication — there is no way to reach client data with a password alone. During the closed beta, the advisor console is switched on for your organization by the Pocket-CFO team; until it is, the Advisor pages explain that the console isn’t enabled yet.
